ABSTRACT

This paper comments on the unexamined bifurcation of new state capitalism studies into two camps: changes in liberal capitalism and analyses of illiberal state forms. I characterize these aspects as Lazarus meets Loch Ness: Lazarus-like when focused on the ever-reborn market interventions of the liberal capitalist state, and Loch Ness-like in its rediscovery of the resurfaced 'other.'

ABSTRACT

Introduction: It is urgent to explore and solve the problems in China's current Marxist psychological education. The main goal of the research is to promote the sinicization innovation of Marxist humanistic theory in colleges and universities. Methods: Combined with Marxist humanist theory, this paper designs a science, technology, engineering, and mathematics teaching mode for cultivating innovative thinking in an attempt to change the way college students cultivate innovative thinking. The research method is to discuss the status, problems, causes, and countermeasures of the sinicization innovation of Marxist humanistic theory in colleges and universities through literature research, logical analysis, and empirical research. Results: The progress and existing problems of college students' current psychological education logic are summarized based on empirical research. The research results show that the innovation of Marxist humanistic theory in colleges and universities needs to be innovated in terms of theory, method, content, and form and integrated into the development needs and innovation requirements of contemporary Chinese society. The countermeasures implemented include promoting the intersectionality, interdisciplinarity, and innovation of Marxist humanistic theory research in colleges and universities, strengthening the close integration of Marxist humanistic theory education and practice in colleges and universities, and enhancing the effectiveness and orientation of Marxist humanistic theory education in colleges and universities. Discussion: In the context of innovative thinking, the effectiveness of psychological logic education should be further improved through innovative research on the sinicization of Marxist humanistic theory in colleges and universities.

ABSTRACT

Stigma refers to devalued stereotypes that create barriers for stigmatized individuals. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the stigmatization of survivors worsened existing inequalities and triggered mass hysteria. The paper delves into the stigmatization experienced by COVID-19 survivors and the role of Marxist criticism in analyzing this issue. The main findings from the empiricist tradition approach suggest that the perception of COVID-19 stigma is higher among those who are older, belong to ethnic minorities, lack social support, have manual occupations, and possess lower levels of education. The proposed destigmatization pathways include psychological counseling services, social support, and health education. Employing a Marxist perspective can aid in illuminating how economic practices and material conditions influence prevalent ideologies related to stigma. The stigmatization of COVID-19 survivors may be perceived as a consequence of social power inequality, although the current emphasis on individual characteristics as triggers for stigma may neglect the wider systemic forces in operation. Thus, it's crucial to establish improved social care policies to combat exploitation and oppression due to power imbalances. The ultimate objective of such an examination is to identify effective approaches to tackle and eradicate stigma regarding health-related concerns. An interdisciplinary approach integrating a pluralistic perspective would benefit investigating how social systems and individual attributes contribute to the exacerbation of social inequality and stigmatization.

ABSTRACT

Objective: As the basketball level rises, the paradox that the theoretical research of psychological tactics lags behind practice becomes more pronounced. This study is undertaken to enhance the pupils' psychological tactics training and scientific level. This study's primary purpose is to examine the effect of long-term training and competition on basketball players' propensity for critical thinking. Methods: The author blends pertinent critical thinking theories from Marxist legal theory with psychological and tactical elements. Using literature, expert interviews, surveys, and quantitative statistics, the importance of critical thinking in the psychological and tactical application process is explored from the standpoint of information gathering, processing, and decision selection and application. Using SPSS17.0, the studied data and pertinent data were obtained. Results: Based on the CUBA Chinese University Basketball Association's test of the critical thinking tendency, it can be determined that basketball players have developed some elements of the critical thinking tendency after long-term training and competition. Conclusion: In the context of modern basketball's evolution, the cognitive ability of decision-makers has a significant impact on decision-making. To attain scientific and rational decision-making in the current competitive climate, decision-makers must possess high decision-making thinking skills. Basketball players have a solid training foundation in critical thinking.(AU)

ABSTRACT

This paper considers queer studies in the global geopolitical hotspot of Asia, as well as how we can reimagine queer theories through both the Covid-19 pandemic and the intensified regional and global superpower competition and geopolitical tensions. It argues for a rethinking of queer studies through today's international relations and geopolitical complications in a sociological political economy. The aim is to connect critical studies with analyses of economic and social class structures, an approach that has been substantiated by the current crises, and to present an expanded queer mobility theory with two brief case studies (mini-critiques) of the current socioeconomic conditions facing marginalized people under Covid-19 and the changing geopolitical landscape. In so doing, this paper actively explores what queer studies can do and can be through the current historical turning point of the pandemic and geopolitical rivalry toward potential post-Covid socioeconomic revival and recovery.

ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT

The research analyzed the Marxist perspective influence on the social paradigm of occupation. Narrative bibliographic research was carried out, using a qualitative and interpretive methodology to analyze the concepts of the subject and the social in three proposals located within said paradigm: the theory of the occupational nature of the human being by Ann Wilcock, the Kawa model by Michael Iwama and the so called political-social perspective of Occupational Therapy by Kronenberg, Algado and Pollard, comparing them with the same conceptions in the Marxist perspective. An influence of the Marxist perspective is identified in the construction of the selected texts and the conceptions of the subject and the social, more clearly and sometimes explicitly in the proposals of Ann Wilcock and Kronenberg, Algado and Pollard. In the case of the Kawa model, fewer meeting points could be recognized, which can be attributed to the influence of a worldview from the East.

ABSTRACT

In a historical moment inundated by disasters, understanding and conceptualising the phenomenon is a matter of some importance. No framework for doing so has been more productive than that developed by Wisner and his colleagues. But their so-called 'Progression of Vulnerability' (pressure and release [PAR] model) framework was conceived before the onset of the climate crisis. And that crisis, as the saying goes, changes everything. Contribution: What follows is an immanent critique of the framework, with an eye towards shifting some of its parameters in order to account for the process of climate breakdown now multiplying disasters across the globe.

ABSTRACT

Abstract The article aims to discuss the "Social Commitment" Project of Brazilian Psychology (PCSP) in the current conjuncture. The PCSP comes from the process of historical battles of Psychology in the 1970s, which also occurred in other areas, aiming for a knowledge committed to Brazilian and Latin American reality, and with its social transformation. Such assumptions demanded a theoretical-political movement with new methodological and ontological bases. Thus, we aim to discuss some of its limitations and potentialities: first, there is a historical presentation and contextualization of the PCSP and, later, a debate about its linkage to the scope of social policies. Anchored in the present situation, of intensifying barbarism, we conclude by signaling the need not only for a social commitment, but for an ethical-political project in Psychology that is oriented and contributes to another societal project

ABSTRACT

One of sexologist Wilhelm Reich's most ambitious and enduring theories claims that sexuality and sexual repression play a central role in the production and reproduction of class structures and hierarchies. From 1927-1933, Reich combined his sexological work with his communist political convictions in a movement that became known as sex-pol. Reich developed some of his most provocative and potentially emancipatory theories through this empirical work with members of working-class communities. Though they often remain anonymous in his writings, the traces of their voices remain audible throughout. In this paper, I employ a Gramscian method, developed by post-colonial scholars, to read for the trace of proletarian voices in Reich's archive. I argue that these subjects helped to theorize the role of sex in producing and reproducing class oppression. Reading for the trace of proletarian voices in the archive expands our understanding of how working-class subjects in early twentieth-century Germany and Austria helped to produce concrete sexological knowledge from below.

ABSTRACT

Introduction: The updating of the Occupational Therapy's critical thinking and method, known as the Historical Materialism Current of Occupational Therapy (CMHTO), arising in Brazil in the 1980s, is necessary for the open debate that we intend to contribute to the critical perspective of Occupational Therapy. Methods: Theoretical study about historical and dialectical materialist discussion in brazilian Occupational Therapy. Objective: To present the fundamental categories of the CMHTO and part of its theorization in the epistemological debate of Occupational Therapy in Brazil. Results: The epistemological scope of Occupational Therapy, and the purpose and form of professional intervention were the central objects of the CMHTO debate from Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels under the categories work, capitalist production, commodity, alienation, hegemony, ideology, class consciousness, praxis and class struggle. The professional role crisis manifested the contradictions of the profession in the face of its inability to respond to the social Palavras-chave: Ensino Online. Terapia Ocupacional. Aprendizagem. COVID-19. and health needs of the working class. The historical and dialectical materialist method theorized by the CMHTO, although primary, point to the overcoming the abstraction about human occupation and the functionalist character of occupational therapy practices that sustain the reproduction to the capital. Conclusion: The critical epistemological debate in Occupational Therapy remains open. The reconstruction of brazilian CMHTO answers the call of our combative professional base to the current form of capitalism under the new and known social and health issues of the working class.

ABSTRACT

The purpose is to solve the problem of college students' employment difficulties. It is the development trend of the times to master the basic psychological pressure state of students and analyze students' problems by using modern technology and science. First, based on Marxist theory, the theory of entrepreneurship education and the characteristics of teachers and students in colleges are expounded, and the principle and algorithms of Backpropagation Neural Network (BPNN) are introduced. Second, from the perspective of entrepreneurship education and mental health factors of college students, the sample set of the BPNN model is collected using a Questionnaire Survey (QS). Then, the sample set is normalized to analyze the current college entrepreneurship education and the health and stress of college students. The results show that the comprehensive BPNN output of entrepreneurship education is 0.726, indicating that entrepreneurship education in colleges is at a moderate level. The proposed BPNN model can perform better than the traditional prediction methods in predicting college students' mental health, and the data fitting results are satisfactory. Overall, college students' entrepreneurship education should be improved, and schools should take more incentives to help adjust college students' mentality.

ABSTRACT

The text is a review of the book "The Method in Marx: the truth and the essence of matter", written by Ranieri Carli, professor and researcher of the Social Work course at Fluminense University. Taking the thought of György Lukács as a key to reading and taking Marx as its main reference, the book highlights a set of important theoretical elements to the dialectical thinking of the German philosopher and revolutionary of the 19th century. The explanations and arguments included in the book can contribute to a new and necessary appropriation of a Marxist thought in physical education, as well as in the always desirable "battle of ideas" against postmodern thought.

ABSTRACT

O objetivo desse artigo é tratar do significado do fenômeno do "duplo poder", algo presente desde as revoluções burguesas até as revoluções proletárias.

The relevant issue here is whether the whole proletarian revolution must necessarily undergo a moment of double power or, otherwise, the clash between two States is something that has become anachronistic. The text contains observations from authors who actively took part of revolutions, such as Marx, Engels, Lenin, Trotsky, Zinoniev, Rosa Luxemburgo and Gramsci in addition to several commentators. This article intends to contribute to the debate on the strategy to be assumed by the worldwide proletariat.

ABSTRACT

Within the framework of the 60th anniversary of psychology regulation in Brazil, in a moment of sharpening of the structural crisis of capital, this paper analyzes in what sense the critique in/of psychology is developed, how it influences recent psi development and its implications. This theoretical work dialogues with critical analytical exercises in Brazilian psychology since Marxism. On one hand, we see the critique of psychology not only developing, but also influencing the development of this field in Brazil towards analyses and explanations more consistent with reality, as well as towards more ethically-politically committed practices, overcoming historical gaps. On the other, we observe inflections and slowdowns in the critique linked to the conjuncture, its institutionalization in academia (in terms of knowledge production) and social policies (referring to professional work), leading to a crisis in critical psychology praxis; the sharpening of the structural crisis of capital expressed in critical proposals of/in psychology. As paths for a continued critique as a driver for developing psychology, we point out a) explicitness of the ontological dimension of the critic and its ethical-political projects of psychology and society; b) totalizing analyses, instead of fragmentations of reality; c) praxis as a truth criteria, overcoming the notion of critique as something in itself or mere theoretical exercise detached from reality; d) human emancipation as a horizon; e) rescue of radicalism; and f) go beyond the borders of psychology, towards social struggles and movements.(AU)
